Who got the bug? So many people are infected with flu and sadly it didn’t miss me! 🙁 The ups and downs of my temperature this week also reminded me about the travels that I had during autumn. (We have our own ways to cope and feel better, ayt?) Got to do something positive with the bug. 🙂 So here I am sharing a bit of what I experienced…
Honestly, during my first autumn trip, I didn’t have that much of an idea on what to pack. I just know that autumn can sometimes be warm and sunny and other times cold and chilly. Since for some reason I’ve been traveling during autumn (what’s with autumn?) in Europe, Israel, and Australia, I realized that I just need a few and practical travel clothing pieces. These pieces are so practical that I can use them over and over again even when I’m in Manila (except for the trench coat and boots).
So, here are some PRACTICAL TRAVEL CLOTHING PIECES that you should have or prepare to have from your closet to your luggage:

From Venice to Tel Aviv: Have a coat or suit! It makes any clothing look more polished even when it’s too windy!

From Paris to Masada: Can’t say anything bad with the scarf! It can warm you, protect you from the heat from Masada and it can even make you look good.

From a Hong Kong Mall to Tel Aviv University: There would be times when you just don’t want to dress up that much. A plain thermal top or turtle neck makes any outfit look more easy and refined.

From Jerusalem to Disneyland: Another tip for those lazy travelers! Always bring some cool t-shirt that you can wear both as “pantulog” or wear something with a jacket or cardigan.

Night & Day in the streets of Jerusalem: Having a jacket will always be a clever idea especially at places where the weather is unpredictable.

From our Paris apartment to the ancient cobblestone streets of Jerusalem: A pair of good boots will make your long walks more bearable during tours plus it also looks sleek.

Always bring a silk blouse with you or a dressy one. You can wear this when you need to look “smart” like when meeting the ambassador and his staff at the Philippine Embassy in Israel.

From Venice to Jerusalem: Tights or leggings is going to be one of your best friends especially in cold places. You can wear this under a pair of jeans or with a long dress. Even the camel was poised in this photo.
When traveling, it’s all about layering and mixing those travel clothing pieces. It’s also about choosing the right fabrics. Cashmere, silk, cotton, wool and leather are great fabrics (just to name a few).
Where to buy them?
Most of the travel clothing pieces that I have were from Zara, Massimo Dutti, and Franco Sarto (boots). I also bought my thermals at Marks & Spencer. Since I’ll be using them for a long time, I’ve chosen to pick (invest on) good quality products and fabrics that can last longer.
(Click photos below to check the shopping options and clothing pieces that you can buy. Plan ahead and even look for SALE items.)
For quality shirts, tops, jackets and other travel essentials (for him and for her), one of the practical ways to buy them is through online shops like Zalora.
Hope you’ll enjoy finding the right travel pieces for you! Enjoy your weekend. Say no to the bug!
*Most of the photos from Israel were taken by my friend Benny Dychangco. Thanks! 🙂
