Weekends with MidSummer Manila: There’s always something to love and learn

by Oct 21, 2018Blog, Hearty Living

One of the things that I enjoy doing these days is going around different markets, exhibits, trunk shows and bazaars that showcase Filipino and international designers, young and mom entrepreneurs, and their interesting creativity. (Talking about adulting, haha!)

This is certainly one of the ways that I get inspiration whenever I see something new and unique, taste something that’s really good, and meet people who are willing to share their stories.

And one of the places that I get to do these is whenever MidSummer Manila has its event either in Makati or BGC.

Here are just some of those wonderful finds that I’ve discovered and moments that I’ve experienced from one of their events.

ITO PHILIPPINES:

Ito Philippines sell one of the best bamboo linens that you can find in the market today.

I also found out that they’re going to have their apparel line very soon! (That’s something to look forward to!)

I kid you not when I say that their towels are the softest, fluffiest and most amazing to touch! Now imagine that in a bed linen… You’re going to doze off right away for sure!

AZALA:

Was surprised to meet the young founder of Azala. She seems very young but glad to know young entrepreneurs like her! Her products specifically Azala’s footwear are made with pure genuine leather.

SITARA VINTAGE:

Next, I met some fun beauties at one of the most vibrant booths, Sitara Vintage! I love their intricately embroidered clothing products and the founders’ warm and colorful personalities as well!

Founded by four fabulous friends, every event that they join will surely be a girl-powered party!

Fell in love with these hairbands not just because of its designs and colors but because these gorgeous pieces actually came from the extra fabrics that Sitara has. Now, that’s eco and fashion friendly!

Love, love details!

Even their hangers are pretty!

Having fun while meticulously checking the details of their beautiful dresses! 🙂

ALSO ENJOYED SOME BREAK WITH THESE FOOD FINDS:

My quick lunch from Kashmir! The chicken tandoori with basmati rice was so yummy!

BAKER STREET BREAD AND LOVE’S long and slow fermented and freshly baked focaccia:

Some great smelling teas from SUNNA BODY TREAT (they also sell natural and handmade soaps):

Healthy and yummy treats from Z JARS:

These are just some of the things that make me happy every time I visit MidSummer Manila’s events!

Join them until 10 p.m. tonight at Uptown Mall in BGC! 🙂

I asked Ms. Manisha Budhrani about her vision about MidSummer Manila, and here’s her answer:

“My vision is to give Filipino and expat mompreneurs and online sellers the chance to widen their market where they can sell their products to more people. Online selling is a little vague as people still want to touch and feel, and try the products that they want to buy first. So our bazaar gives the public a chance to do so. Once they are happy and satisfied, they would be repeat customers! Also, bazaars is the new way to socialize. I also hold workshops that help people mingle and make new friends!”

With old and new friends, and MidSummer Manila’s organizer Ms. Manisha Budhrani.

Thanks for letting us experience your vision, Manisha! Amazing job to all the entrepreneurs for all their creativity and hard work as well. Appreciate everyone who made my weekend extra sweet and special! 🙂

MY SWEET FINDS: PATTISERIE KYOORNATE MANILA, SUNNA BODY TREAT, ITO PHILIPPINES, BAKERS STREET BREAD AND LOVE, CAKE SHOTS PH, MOFA DESIGN PH, B.CASUAL, SITARA VINTAGE. 🙂 (Check the links to see their products!)
